Pilot Plant Testing
Glencore Technology has a dedicated pilot plant that can be used for testing client feed materials and provides facilities for ongoing process development. Glencore Technology can carry out test campaigns as necessary for clients. A 50 kg/h ISASMELT™ pilot plant is used to carry out test smelting runs for clients.
This fully-equipped facility has access to materials handling and laboratory facilities. Our experienced personnel work directly with the client, testing their feed materials to determine optimum process and operating parameters, metal recoveries and minor element deportment, and the most suitable slag chemistry.
What you see on that trolley is 90kg of refined copper – 98% pure. But where it comes from is e-scrap. It was made in a single furnace, one test only, using our ISASMELT™ pilot plant. That’s why we’re smiling. Turning out that kind of quality from e-scrap in one test is significant – not just for the industry but for the world.
