This paper outlines the basic process conditions and parameters used in the design of the Double-ISA process, as well as the process results that demonstrate significantly lower CAPEX and OPEX when compared to other smelting flowsheets

The Glencore Technology hydrometallurgy team were approached by an existing zinc flotation operation to design and commission an Oxidative Copper Leach plant to produce a suitable Copper Sulfate reagent from refinery generated Copper Cementation Cake (Copper Mud).

This paper demonstrates how the Albion Process successfully produces the required reagent on-site at a fraction of the cost and provides flexibility in both potential feed sources and production rate to suit site requirements.
